The Do’s and Don’t’s of Planning a Successful Event-Part 1

May 28, 2016

Hey love! I’ve planned, styled and produced some pretty fabulous events over the years, but not without learning quite a few valuable lessons along the way! Here are a few things to consider when planning your next event.

Do….. make sure you are being authentic to your image, brand or personal style. If the event is not a true reflection of who you are or what you want to convey, it will feel forced and may not be as enjoyable for you or your guests. For instance, if your guests are a group of young urban professionals ranging in age from 25-40, they may not be as interested in a band that strictly plays soft rock music from the 70’s.

Don’t’……. try to plan your own event. Hiring an event designer is a very wise decision; however, in doing so it’s important that you trust that individual to do their job. Ultimately, you both have the same goal…….an event your guests will rave about for years to come!

Do…….. keep the lines of communication open. Your expectations, desires, and wishes should openly discussed from the very beginning. If you change your mind about something, take into consideration how this may impact what has already been put in place.

Glamorously yours,
